Coleford Carnival of Transport is fifteen years old in 2012. We are proud that the Carnival has continued to grow and has received excellent support from Exhibitors, Traders and the Public. We thank you for that support, especially so in these difficult financial times.

Since it began the Carnival has been free for exhibitors and the public. The Carnival has relied on donations, trader fees and advertising to cover costs. However, rising costs and a shortfall in income has resulted in the Carnival losing money in each of the last two years. This threatens the future of the carnival and it is no exaggeration to say that it would cease within two years.

Therefore the Carnival Committee has reduced costs but has also been forced to take the difficult decision to introduce new charges. These actions will ensure that the carnival continues to offer a great day out every Easter Monday.

The new charges are:

- an administration fee of £2.50 for each exhibitor

- A Return Fare for Park & Ride buses of £1 per adult

- Revised trader fees, held for the next two years

We can assure you that these changes are absolutely necessary and trust that we can look forward to your ongoing support of the largest event of it's kind.
